MOTORCYCLE TRAVEL BAG

This bag was commissioned to replace an old canvas bag that had been used on a number of motorcycle holidays. My friend wanted a bag that was large enough to hold all his clothes, shoes, washing kit, etc for a 10 day trip through Europe. The bag was designed to fit safely on the back seat of the bike and resulted in a capacity of approx 44 litres.

The bag was made using an oil tanned leather that would provide a soft flexible structure and would help to prevent any water ingress. All seams were made inside the bag and hand stitched to ensure a strong construction.

Piping was added to provide decoration and the colour was chosen to match in with the bike manufacturers colour scheme. The bag used two colours - the main part of the bag was charcoal grey and the base and pocket flaps were black. The logo panels and name plates were constructed using veg tanned leather suitable protected with waxes and oils to make them as water resistant as possible.

A number of D rings were located around the bag to allow elasticated straps to be used to hold the bag onto the bike as well as to allow additional items to be attached if required. A carrying handle was fitted to the top of the bag to aid moving between the bike and hotel/accommodation.
