APPLE MACBOOK AIR CASE
The client requested a case for an Apple MacBook Air with two initials and a logo based on the Flash TV show.
Although similar to other tablet cases, the MacBook Air is different in that the device is wedge shaped and that
needed a different construction of the case.
To make sure the MacBook Air fitted smoothly, the leather case was designed to follow the wedge shape of the
device. As with all my other tablet cases, there were no metal connectors and so there's no chance of
accidentally scratching the device when using the case.
The leather was hand-dyed with an airbrush to get a smooth coloration that closely matched the clients
requirements - deeper colour variants of the dye were used for the initials and the tags that fold the flap in place.
The Flash logo was carved and stamped in the leather before finishing with specialist leather paints to
get the metallic effect seen - a final coating of acrylic lacquer then sealed the logo.
